Its been a while since I've posted but I feel I need to share this. A few weeks ago my friend and I went to a home bible study and the man who spoke gave me and many that were there prophetic messages. This man spoke my life to me..his message was from God because the things he said were very specific and no one but God knows about them. I had never met this man either..I had never even heard of him. Last night there was another meeting and something he said has led me to fast dinner this evening. He said that the Lord revealed to him that something would occur on sept 17th that will change america forever unless his people get on their knees and cry out for him to spare us. I am not one who buys into hype..but, the Lord has already made it quite clear to me that this man is not a false prophet. Please join me this evening and pray for america. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Thank you for that prophetic word... I've never had the gift of prophecy, and I'm only posting this now because I feel that nudging from the Lord that creates an unrest in me until I say something to someone the Lord wants me to speak to..
I've been feeling it for about a week now, and I keep dismissing this because it's a common phrase, but the words Cry Out have not left me... Its persistent in as much as it prompted me in prayers the other night to Cry Out my prayers all alone in my bedroom. It was with me in worship last night at church, and even when I read the words Cry Out , the seem amplfied.
So the above sentence," get on our knees and Cry Out For Him to spare us." seems to me to be a call from the Lord to do just that!
Today, Tomorrow, this next second seems as good a time as any to Cry Out to the Lord our God because His promised to us is that He hears us when we call. He has personally driven this promise to me over the years and although I am a little slow in understanding Him, I will Cry Out my prayers for the church to wake up, see the times we are in, and pray, Cry Out for mercy on the unsaved, Cry Out for the unsaved to repent, hear the Holy Spirit promptings. We as believers know what it is to have God in our lives, how will they know unless we Cry Out and they hear.
My Facebook page and some of my Christian friends have been pouring on the call to seek the Lord while He still may be found. This age of grace is about to end.
Lord let our Crying Out to our unsaved friends and loved ones be heard. In your precious name we pray.

TRR, indeed good to see you again! Sept 17 also lines up with what some are predicting according to the timewave theory- the only thing is if that "something" on the 17th happens to be the rapture, I hate to pray the US to be spared from it on that day :)

Lately, I had an experience of doubting the Word of God in personal term. As we had a prayer about 3 years ago and God said something but it didn't happen as we have been told 3 years ago. I couldn't tell what it is but it totally put me in disarray since I didn't know again what to do.. Overtime I had forgotten that and deep in my heart I rejected the notion that it was the voice of God since it didn't happen. Now I began to think maybe it would happen as in your experience but it just has not been revealed to me yet .. but maybe in the future ..
Thank you again ... now I think differently ...about this matter.

I am just wondering how can you know that man is not a false prophet? Is it just because he know specific stuff from your past?

...and what will you think about him being a God's prophet when 17th come and go?

Kasely, I absolutely agree with you, God uses people with prophetic gifts, but I think you will agree with me that we can't say that someone is prophet only because that person knows something from our past. (demons also knows many details from our life)... Especially, when that person gives a specific date, like the one we are talking about.

And of course, question I already asked is still on. Will we think that person is God's prophet when 17th or any other date, set by a man, turns to be false, nothing?

sparrowcloud, when I first met the guy who would be my pastor he was preaching to a small group at a Christian retreat called God's Ranch, which my wife and I drove up to see just because of the name. He gave a prophetic word to one of the ladies there that the child within her would turn out to be a tremendous blessing to the Body of Christ. At which point she burst into tears, her husband comforted her and the people who actually knew her (which didn't include my future pastor) told him he had really blown it this time. She had recently miscarried and was still in mourning over the loss of their very much desired child.

His response was that he knew it was the voice of the Lord and couldn't explain why it made no sense in the natural. The other side of the story is she was pregnant again, but had no clue. She wasn't late yet. And that newly conceived child prayed with our child for salvation several years later. When the lady's husband was our worship leader, my future pastor was the now assistant pastor, and the owner of God's Ranch had returned to Arkansas to be the senior pastor.

I agree, God's word is always true, but we don't always see the truth of it at the time. Which makes it hard to judge "false prophets" at times unless they have spoken very, very specifically. Which many of them do these days.

When I see a "prophet" build themselves up, I ignore them. Same with any minister. John the Baptist was the greatest preacher of his day, but he acknowledged that Yeshua must become greater and John less. It's not about the messenger, but about the Messiah.

When I hear of a toddler speaking the things of God, or a startled senior citizen saying that God told them something specific, I listen. In their weakness, God pours out strength.

One thing that stands out to me from reading God's word is that I don't recall God ever telling one of his prophets a specific date for his word to be fulfilled. I know with Sodom and Gommorah it was within a few days, but typically it seems that when a messenger comes with a word from the Lord or when a prophet is given a word, there isn't a specific date. (I could be wrong, I'm no bible pro) I get a little leary when people give a date for something, likely because there have been so many people who have come out and said that something is going to happen on a specific date and then the day comes and goes. I understand what others are saying about sometimes things happen that we can't see or understand until a little later on, and I am sure that this is the case. But I just can't get too excited about a date. :(
