For those of you who know what is to love a pet almost like a child I am asking if you would pray for my brother and his wife; Jeremy and Debbie. Last year around Christmas time their Mastiff named Boomer was bitten by a poisonous spider. He suffered terribly before he died. My brother loved that dog so much. They both did, but Jeremy and Boomer had something special. Not long before Boomer died they had gotten another Mastiff puppy named Gatsby. At first my brother was reluctant to get attached to the new puppy because he could never replace his buddy. Gatsby however turned out to be too hard to resist. He became their baby. This past Saturday they were up in the mountains taking engagement pictures for a friend. Jeremy wanted to take Gatsby off the leash to let him play in the snow, but Debbie didn't want him to. He did it anyway. To make a long story short, Gatsby got hit by a truck coming around the corner of a mountain road. He didn't die instantly, but died in Debbie's arms on the way down to the vet. He wasn't even two years old. They are taking this so hard, just devestated. We all are. It is too awful that they lost two beloved dogs so close together and so tragically. Two sweeter "boys" would be hard to find. My brother blames himself for taking Gatsby off the leash. They are both super Christian people, but I think Jeremy is feeling bitter that God would allow this tragedy to touch them twice. Debbie said in a facebook post that she couldn't imagine having to say goodby so soon, and couldn't imagine their life without their baby. Her only comfort was that his big brother Boomer was looking out for him now. Jeremy is not so sure he will see them again. I believe we will see them again in heaven, but I know not everybody does. That is another topic. I hope this doesn't seem silly to ask for prayer over the loss of a dog, but I'm sure some of you who love your pets understand. Please pray for God's peace and comfort for them. thank you!

You bet I'll pray for both of them! I know how hard it is to lose pets. It breaks your heart because they literally become family members.
Jeremy and Debbie will see Boomer and Gatsby again. They're waiting in Heaven for them!
God Bless and Love,
Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
How sad for Gatsby to die so soon. I personally believe all pets/animals go to heaven also. I pray that he looks to the Lord to help him get through his grief. I think a member here recently had a dream that he was in heaven with his dog flying( I think Southpaw :P)? Maybe if you show him that, it might help. I really feel for him :/. I remember when I was a little kid, I had guinea pigs. When the first one died in my arms, I was devastated ( I was 7 ). I couldn't imagine having a sweet dog die :'(.
Dear Lord, we lift up to you Jeremy and Debbie. May you comfort them in their grief and sadness. May they look upon the lord for help. Jesus please, please, please heal them in every way. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8 ESV)
Heavenly Father Our creator, we thank you for the precious life that you give all mankind and especially their companions in animals. Father give this couple comfort and peace that they provide a wonderful earth home for both Boomer and Gatsby. Assure them that their animals are resting in peace in Heaven and will greet them soon. In Jesus name, Amen.Exodus 3:14 i am who I AM... I AM (Yaweh)sent me and you.
Jesus said behold, I make all things new.
I believe that our animals will also be remade, new again and that our joy will be all the greater because of it. If God can make us new and the world new surely he meant our pets when he said ALL THINGS NEW.
I pray that they will be able to look forward to this. I am looking forward to being with my pets in heaven. I also have a dog that I adore, among my other animals.
May God comfort them with his promise to make all things new. Peace!
How heart-breaking. They will be in my thoughts and prayers.“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” — Romans 8:18
Dear Father, I pray that You comfort the grief that Jeremy, Debbie, and Brenda feel for their beloved Gatsby. Lord, I know that You feel their pain, also, because You have compassion for Your hurting children. I ask that You let them feel Your lovingkindness and comfort on their hearts, Lord. I ask that You take the guilt out of Jeremy's heart for letting Gatsby off his leash, and take away any hurt or bitterness he may feel towards You, dear Lord. I ask that You surround them with Your love and peace, and remove the sadness from their hearts, dear Father. I ask all of this in Jesus precious Name. Amen.“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” — Philippians 1:6
Yeshua, I thank You that You came to heal the broken hearted and save the lost. I know that You love animals because You are the Good Shepherd and because David the shepherd was a man after Your own heart. We ask that You comfort these people who have such love in their hearts that it embraces not only the people but the dogs You have placed in their lives. We trust You to make some good come out of these circumstances, although we don't so how it is possible. But You have overcome this world and You are making all things new. Come soon and bring Your Bride Home and wipe their tears away forever. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. Gal 3:27
Praying in agreement with all of the wonderful prayers already posted here, for the comfort and healing of your family members.
With tears in my eyes I am praying for you, Jeremy and Debbie. It is so hard to lose a beloved pet, especially when you think it is your fault. Praying that our Father will comfort Jeremy and Debbie in their time of loss.
And Drazen Drago was right, I did post a dream about flying with my chocolate lab. I am copying it below.
Just wanted to share this dream with all of you animal lovers.
This dream was about our chocolate lab, JB. Although he is gone now, he is probably the most sweet and affectionate pet we have ever had. He lived for 12 years and was blind for his last 5 years.
The dream was very short and sweet. JB and I were flying thru the air and we were looking at the beautiful countryside. The sky was gorgeous and the scenery below was equally spectacular. JB's chocolate brown ears were flying in the wind. And he had such great joy! He could see perfectly and his body was so healthy. As I am writing this now, it is bringing tears of joy to my eyes. Can't wait to see him again and for him to "see" me.
Thanks for letting me share. Can't wait to see all of you as well!
I am so sorry. Praying for them!
