This topic actually was a response I had addressd to LilaRose and others from my thread. "The Just Shall Live by Faith - Imminent Rapture." What came out of it was more than I had expected to say. It was at the tail end of the thread so I don't know how many actually saw it. Looking back at the thread now, I can see it's gone in a direction I had hoped it wouldn't. My purpose was to reach out to those who truly desire Christ and are in dire need of desiring their loved ones and friends to come to Christ as well. Personally - and please understand, I love you all and am certainly not rebuking or displaying any animosity here. I am only sharing with you my own personal perspective - I don't see how discussions of the rapture falling on this or that day, number specific day or feast day or what have you, has any power to help someone who's hurting, mayby even lost, or turn another toward Christ. It seems that they just end up being discussions that goes? Well, I don't know. Maybe they do bring others closer to Christ, I don't know. If I were a a lurker seeking answers concerning my salvation and eternal life, I just don't see how I'd finds any answers in such discussions. But that's just me. At any rate, this was my frame of mind for starting the thread in the first place and I know I can't control where the thread is going to end up, that's up to the viewers and participant response.
My desire is ministry and pointing people toward Christ. What the thread seems to have turned into just wasn't my purpose for starting it so I would like to start another thread and hopefully someone will be touched by the Holy Spirit through it and touched by the anointing of those who will add to it. There are probably many who view this forum who are unknown to those here because they post infrequently or are simply lurkers hoping for something of significant power to grab hold of. That power being Christ through His Holy Spirit. Obviously others must find it here to some degree because why else would they hang around? So, if you happen to be a lurker, may the Lord bless you and everyone that seeks to sincerely know His heart. . . .
LilaRose, I just wanted to thank you and the many others for your comments on my thread. Isn't it wonderful how the Lord works? Each and everyone of us have something to give. All of us have a divine purpose even in the midst of our insecurities, fears, shortcomings and what have you. None of these things intimidate God. He purposes His will to work through us regardless of our strength and ability. Someone's strength comforts me in my weakness. My ability to express in writing allows another to present a lesson and it goes on and on. If you step back from everything and just watch - asking the Lord to show you what He sees and seek to find what He's doing, you find that He's an incredible orchestrator. I get this thought of a director standing before a huge orchestra directing this beautiful symphony. Everything plays out and from our point of view as musicians it seems like everything is chaotic and out of rythm and sync because the orchestra is so large and everyone is playing different notes on different instruments. But from His vantage everything makes sense and the sound is not only beautiful but viscerally moving. His picture of us is so incredibly different from what we see in and of ourselves. There are no happenstances, no coincendinces with God. Everything about about our lives from the moment we get up in the morning from the time we go to bed has reason and meaning and it doesn't matter whether we understand this, He does. We are His workmanship, His vessels and the Lord carries out His will through us via His Holy Spirit. Jesus said that He is the vine and we are the branch. Without the vine we can do absolutely nothing. It is really He that does it all.
We see everything, especially about ourselves, when compared to others compartmentally. That is, we see bits and peaces of this world from the vantage of our own perception of it. That perception is linked to everything we know and have experienced in life since birth. It's all wrapped up in memory in our brain. Yet we were born in a fractured world full of sin, deceit, sorrows, pain, you name it. Thus our experiences become filed away in memory, which carves out our perceptions through which we view life. It's an individual thing, which is why it's so hard to believe that we are all actually connected in Christ. When the Lord views us He sees that entire connection and carries out His will in a collective manner because He deals with the entire body of Christ, not just the individual organ that you may represent in that body. In other words, we don't necessary see ourselves as being a part of something much greater than just ourselves and our individual lives. The Lord may heal a specific organ, but His healing always benefits the entire body. When the Lord deals with you specifically, He's not doing it only because He wants to teach or show only you a lesson, the entire body benefits.
As cells, muscles, and appendages formalize the human body, Christians form the body of Christ. God sees our connection to each other as a whole body. Because we are connected, one Christian disobeying God ultimately causes a ripple affect throughout the entire body. Consider your own body. If you pull a muscle in your back, it can cause pain not only in your back, but also in your head, neck, arms, legs, and even in your feet. Yet, the afflicted area was your back. Every cell in your body has a connection throughout all the cells in your body. Yet, every cell in your body has its own function for the benefit of the whole body. There is no jealousy among cells, no competition or insecurity, and no inferiority. One cell does not dictate to another. Each knows and understands its own place within the body that makes up the whole. Every cell functions in a harmonic flow with every other cell. If one cell does not carry out its specific function, it can cause the entire body to weaken, shut down, or even die. Every cell is dependant upon the others and no cells were designed to function without connection to another. This to me is a perfect example of the body of Christ.
It makes you wonder if God had this very concept in mind when He chose to save the world even before the foundation of the world. In otherwords, perhaps the blue print for our very bodies stemmed from the Lord's design of the body of Christ. Sometimes it is difficult for us to understand why God may do what He does in our lives because our understanding falls short of His whole picture, which concerns His entire creation. Most times, we cannot see beyond ourselves. Regardless to what you or I can or cannot understand, He fully understands. Not only does He view the entire picture, which eludes us, but also He sees it from its end to its beginning. Thus, we live in the past tense of what God has already seen. Thus we know we have the assuredness of His Word. He's already seen it, Jesus has already executed it, and the Holy Spirit to this day is revealing it - Glory to God!
So, a finger cannot operate under its own volition separated from the hand, which is connected to the body and neither can a leg stand or walk on its own accord detached from the body. What good is the head without its body? What good is the body without its head? Like the cells that make up the human body, we are one body in Christ, one voice, and one accord unto God. A metaphorical analogy of our design in Christ is similar to a school of fish swimming in the ocean. The way they swim is like an awesome display of God’s perfection. Like a moving artistic design of shimmering radiance gliding effortlessly through water, quickly shifting and changing in smooth wavelike patterns, each fish maintains a perfect precision to the next. Whales and dolphins also tend to swim in a formation of precision. Even certain flocks of birds and some insects fly in this formation where an orchestration exists within their every movement. The slightest curve or bend is imitated by all simultaneously. It is impossible to determine which is leading and which is following. When the body of Christ is in one accord unto God, we are that beautiful design of orchestration in His eyes.
I don't know why I went into all this and yet, I do. I believe someone needed to hear it. At any rate, hopefully someone will be blessed by it. When I think about how the Lord operates it simply blows my mind.
