It's a LONG read but really interesting. I'm still skeptical of America being Babylon because I know that it is the soon-to-be revived Roman Empire. Thoughts??

I am thinking "something" will go on at the SuperBowl. That "something" could be anything but it will be "something" that many of millions of people will see as they are tuned in. I am not saying the Rapture or anything like that " something" just a feeling I am getting.. I may be totally wrong but I just see how in the past few games, Tim Tebow, 3:16 message 316 yards and , the halo and the John 3:16 commercial airing was the Lord's way of spreading his message once again. I may be wrong, and I am not "claiming" anything but these things leading up to this Super Bowl seem beyong coincidence. Just my 2 cents..

I remember all the hype about something happening at the Olympics as well. There have been too many coincidences on others things that haven't panned out. We can see all the signs but the kingpin hasn't been played yet. I am one who does not believe America is Babylon, past,present or future. The Gospel has flourished here and been spread to all the world because of America. We are put on the side of Israel as the big satan. We were the kingpin that put a stop to WWll. We are the first to respond to international tragedies. The Ten Commandents are chiseled in the stonework of the Supreme Court. I have read George Washington's penitent prayes before God and the world would truly be a dark place without the US and its' Christian influence. One point I like to bring up is the eagle is always presented in a positive light in scripture, this just happens to be our main symbol. How is that for coincidence? I know this is a touchy subject and some are convinced the other way. In the end it will not matter because we won't be here. :-)) I do realize she will be part of theNWO, I just hope she is more on the clay than iron side.

Babylon is a world sytem of government and a financial heirarchy. This involves all nations and leadership. Revelation keeps pointing back to how the Babylon of the past was set up and organized as a reminder not to go there again. History tends to repeat in patterns. This is a reminder of what to avoid . This is why Babylon is mentioned so much Revelation. It's an example to learn from. The Babylon of the past was the world power of it's day. The warning is not to imitate it again. All the nations are involved in this Babylon government of the end times.

America is not Babylon.
Babylon persecutes and kills "the saints". In contrast, even today people flock to America from all over the world in search of religious freedom.

I think that Babylon represents an end-time religious system and an economic system. I also favor the view that Babylon refers to literal Babylon. It is possible that the reach of Babylon may extend to many other places, in the way we say "Hollywood" to loosely represent the entire film industry in America, even if the film was made elsewhere.
Still, I agree with Mark that at present the United States is still one of the most free places on Earth (although that position is rapidly disappearing). What it may become in the future is an open question.

Babylon also refers to the ancient religion.It began in the Garden of Eden when the Serpent(Lucifer) told Eve the lie that man can ascend and become as the gods.It continued at the tower of Babel,and continues today.
There is heavy occultic and worship of Lucifer in the US gov't today.
It is rooted in groups like the new age,freemasons,skull & bones,illuminati and other secret societies.These groups are deeply satanic at the core,and committed to the destruction of Judeo-Christian America(& Canada & England,et all).
