Just curious if anyone here has sensed a demonic spirit?  Have you ever been around someone and as soon as they come in the room, you feel this overwhelming oppressing spirit about that person?  So much so that it effects the atmosphere around them.

If so, how do we as believers handle a situation like that?

Yeah, I've had a few encounters that scared me, because I knew the person I spoke with was having "issues," to put it nicely. Both times, I prayed internally the whole time. Once, with a woman, she got increasingly aggressive toward me as I prayed, so I knew something was going on. Was very strange. I still pray about those two people.

That is so odd because i prayed today for this person and started to bind the spirit, calling out the name of Jesus etc.  Well since i have done that, it seem's the person has gotten worse....so that's what scared me.  It's almost like i've opened the door and made it mad.

Well to give a bit of insight to this situation, it may help you understand it more.  This person lives here with me and yes, they know i'm a spirit filled christian.  This person has battled drug addiction all their adult life pretty much and even told me that once, while they was on a high...then seen satan/evil spirit press its face through a wall and told them..."I have you now!"  And began to laugh at this person.

Well, this person doesn't seem to desire to want to break free of this addiction.  They have a very addictive personality and i am believing they also have a "lying spirit" because almost everything they say, is a lie. :(  They also have a compulsive disorder, which doesn't help the addictive side.

But i began walking around the house today and blessing it.  Telling satan that he has no place here etc.  Pleading the blood of Jesus as well.  Then tonight, this person comes in and it's like something i've never felt before.  And when they leave the room or the house....it's like an entirely different place here...in a good way.

I just don't know what to do, i've never experienced this before.

Eep. Ok, thanks for sharing the details. I was just concerned that you were feeling scared or unsafe. I will pray for you and this person *hug* I think all you can do is let us know if you'd like our prayer, and continue to pray yourself. That, and walking the house and telling them to get lost will also help. However, if this person has opened the door to them, which seems likely, then they now have legal rights to this person and will therefore continue to play with him/her. They will also happily try to get at you, mentally and emotionally, if they can (they can't touch you directly, so this will all be subtle and indirect).

Stay strong, keep your mind on God, and keep praying. As I said, I will also pray for you (I just did, after reading your message, but will keep you in my prayers). If you need to talk, we're here!

Tx Thom, well i do believe animals sense evil spirits and can even see things possibly in the spirit realm that we can't.  At least that's what i'm sensing from my cat.  In fact, my cat has attacked this person several times.  For no reason, she will just run up and basically rip open their leg.  

But i know today, after i walked around and began blessing my home and pleading the blood of Jesus over it, when this person came in the door tonight....their entire demeanor seemed a lot more aggitated.  Sooooo....i must of ticked it off!

Maybe i should of read up on this stuff before i did anything cause now i'm clueless.  Also, i'm scared to pray anything else, for i have never encountered something like this.  Eeeekkk

Oh dear. Please don't be scared. They have no right to you, at all! You have a wall of fire around you, as a believer, and they cannot touch you. They are subject to Him, and not only is He in you, but He is for you. The Lord will deal with this!

Yeah, it's very creepy...but i'm not scared.  In fact, i sense a boldness coming up inside of me which i know is the Holy Spirit.  But i'm really more scared for this person cause they can't seem to comprehend that demons are real and they don't seem to see what's going on.

In the name of Jesus, I lift up Cherished. God, I pray you would surround her? with your angels. I pray you would give her supernatural wisdom from your spirit, from your word and courage and boldness to stand against the enemy. I thank you that she is an overcomer and she overcomes by your blood. No weapon formed against her shall prosper. She is more than a conqueror. She is blessed going in and coming out. She walks with a boldness knowing she is your child. I thank you God that you are in this situation and you work everything for your good. In Jesus name, Amen.

And definitely don't be scared -- get angry.  With Righteous anger. 

Last year, after I started truly understanding my inheritance in Christ and tested the water with spiritual warfare, demons decided it was a good idea to have some fun with my kids.

I'm pretty sure they ran from my house naked and bleeding, like the sons of Sceva in Acts 19.  LOL!  But since that day, I haven't been scared of them, I've gotten angry.  And that anger helps me to focus my rebuke.  As long as I'm not throwing a tantrum and I'm well aware that my words are given authority by God Almighty, there is no room in my heart for fear when righteous anger is present.

Imagine yourself as Christ with the money changers in the temple when you're confronted again.  Anger makes you determined to stand your ground.  It gives you confidence you might not have otherwise.

If someone's badmouthing you, you might sit there and take it.  But if they badmouth your spouse or your children?!  WATCH OUT!  Well, think of it as they're badmouthing your Beloved and stare them down!

That's what makes a demon tremble in his boots - when a Christian has no fear of them, and they're fully confident that God's got their backs.  Calling down some angelic hosts while the demoniac is IN the room is a great start as well.

Ephesians says we're blessed with EVERY Heavenly blessing.  I've got to believe that if we needed them, God would send thousands of angels to help us.  Protection and security are obvious blessings from Heaven.

Maybe even pray a silent prayer while this person is in the room asking God to do something about them Himself, since this person is toying with HIS beloved.  God is a jealous God.  He will not allow them to harm you, not if you call upon Him.  Perhaps you can ask for more glory to fill you so that you blind your demonic enemies in the spirit.

Experiment with this.  You don't have to be obvious to the person in the natural.  The demon(s) will know what you're doing, no doubt.  They'll likely make this person want to leave because they know they've been beaten.

I haven't yet read all of the posts on here yet, so I'm not sure if someone has already said this, but if you sense demonic activity then praying in the Holy Ghost (in tongues) is literally a spiritual weapon against spiritual wickidness. 

I have experienced this in the past with my own family member. She is fine now and is back in right standing with Christ. (My cousin), but at one point she had been backslidden. She was sleeping around, going to clubs, and to be honest I don't know what else she had been up to. Only God knows. 
A few years ago, her and my mother were at my house. My mum wanted my cousin to come over as well, but in my spirit I knew that she wasn't supposed to come. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but my mum so desperately wanted her to come to my home as well, because we hadn't seen her for a while. My cousin ended up coming to mine and they both stayed round. It was a very hard few days, because I was literally fighting demons in the spiritual realm, almost every second. These few days was the most tangible experience I had ever had with the demonic presence. I felt them come into my home with her. It was high spiritual warfare. It didn't effect her character, so it's not like she was attacking me or my mother or anything. She's a nice girl, it's just that she was battling demons at the time, literally.
When I would go to sleep in my bed I would feel them moving on top of me. It was such a horrible feeling. Every time I would try to fall asleep I would feel them on my bed. My mother did too. My mum said she could feel them pressing the bed down, to the point she could feel them pressing the springs in the bed. This was new to me, I had never experienced anything like it before. (This kind of warfare).
The power of God was with me at the same time. I felt it. I started to pray in the Holy Ghost, and in the spirit realm I saw the demons shrinking, getting smaller. In the spirit realm they didn't look like monsters or anything graphic, they just looked like big outlined shadow figures. 
I don't mean to scare anyone by saying this, but one of the nights while my cousin was still at my home, my mum physically saw a very small demonic figure, like a little goblin running through the passage way. She said it had on it's head what looked like a turban, something wrapped on it's head. Me and my mum now believe that signifies bondage, and burdens, which of course my cousin had been carrying at the time. This is a true story guys. Believe it if you want. I believe that as I prayed, the demon was shrunk to that small thing my mother saw. My mother defeated it with the blood of Jesus, so the Lord allowed her to do the finishing touches if you will, and that thing left. Thank God I wasn't the one to physically see that thing. It would have given me the creeps. I can handle spiritual warfare, but to see something physically like that would have been too creepy for me, haha. You know the saying, God doesn't give you more than you can handle lol 

Well, my point in sharing this with you is to show you the important of praying in tongues, or in the Spirit, if you will. You have to attack it spiritually, and when you pray in tongues that's what you do. Yes, you can plead the blood of Jesus over the atmosphere, but the depending on the rank of demon you are fighting, you need stronger weapons at times, which was proven in the situation I experienced.

Obedience is also important as well. God told me that she wasn't supposed to come over, but my mum insisted. You see, obedience is better than sacrifice. Sometimes God will tell us things we don't always understand, but we hearken unto Him anyway, Amen... In certain situations, God will tell you to do or pray different things, because He knows how whatever you are facing needs to be dealt with. Just like when Jesus healed the blind man by spitting in the mud then rubbing it on the mans face. God will give us the direction, even if we might not logically understand it, but that's what being led by the spirit is about.

I found a website called Demon Busters that gives a lot of good tips on how to rid your home of demonic activity and how to stop it from getting in.  The first time I went on the site, I thought I was going to go crazy... the music on the site is an old hymn called "the Blood of Jesus."  I was desperately searching for a way to turn the music off until I came to a post that said that if the music on the site was making you uncomfortable, there was likely a demonic force oppressing you.  I let it continue playing as I read article after article on the site.  I knew at the time that there was something not quite right going on in my home.  After spending about two hours on the site, I finally broke down and prayed that God would help me to forgive the people that I was holding unforgiveness against, and also to break any spiritual strongholds in my life at that time.  There was a huge feeling of relief!  I have felt lately that satan and his minions are working overtime to trip us up. I have a friend who has said that she has been feeling very angry lately and flying into rages over the smallest thing. I believe that even though she is saved, she is being oppressed by the enemy big time. I know that there are people out there who think that the idea of spiritual warfare is silly, but from experience, I can tell you it is very real and reading other's experiences just confirms it. 

on the site I was talking about, this woman posted a story about how she was experiencing spiritual warfare in her work-place. Homeless people would come into the office and she could sense that they were oppressed/possessed. She decided to do something about it one day, so she prayed and then on a small piece of paper she wrote, "All who enter this door are covered by the blood of Jesus."  She taped the paper above the door. A few hours later, one of the homeless men who would come in and harass her opened the door and began to enter, but suddenly turned and left. She's had no issues since that day. She also has done this in her home and has noticed more peace and harmony in her home. 

Because we are living in the end times, we need to be on our guard and not deny spiritual warfare. I know a lot of Christians who won't even talk about it because they don't want to admit that something is going on. Hang in there Brothers and Sisters, our redemption is near. 

cohorts of the adversary trying to attack the adopted sons of God, Yeshua's Betrothed makes me think of people pretending to be police pulling over actual police. I chuckle every time I read of this, and it happens every year. It doesn't turn out well for those who are trying to exert authority against those who actually have the authority. Like those who try to rob the local cops favorite hangout. It's a major oops moment. Send them packing. Remember Whose you are.

I agree that some of the stuff on the site was a little far fetched, ie. stuffed animals and not going along with the OSAS idea, but there are a lot of helpful tools on there to recognize demons and when they are up to no good.
