Mt Hekla is also still active:
Meters around Mt. Hekla in southern Iceland have shown “unusual activity” in recent days. The Public Safety Commission has been alerted. According to RÚV Public Radio there is no reason for action as of now. The movements have been recorded in five very precise meters that have been placed around Mt. Hekla in recent years. Professor Páll Einarsson says that these movements are seen in all five meters and even though the evidence is not conclusive they are thought to show magma movement under the volcano. It has now been eleven years since Mt. Hekla, Iceland’s most famous volcano, erupted. In the years since then the mountain is said to have slowly expanded because of magma buildup. The last eruption in Hekla came on February 26 2000 and then earthquakes started an hour and a half before the outbreak of the magma. As of now there is no cause for any activity on behalf of the Public safety commission.
Another Eruption in Italy (Sicily), Mt Etna is begining to erupt, closing down a southern Italy airport from the ash. Etna is the highest volcano in Europe at 10,810 feet high.
Other super volcanos that is still active is Lake Taupo, Whakamara and Reporoa in Australia and New Zealand; Lake Toba and Mount Tambora in Indonesia; Yellowstone Caldera, Island Park Caldera, La Garita Caldera,Long Valley Caldera and Valles Caldera in North America; Baekdu Mountain, Kikai Cadera, Aira Caldera and Mount Aso in Asia; and in Europe, Campi Flegrei and Laacher See.
Non super Volcanos on Yellow and Orange Alert is Cleveland Volcano in Alaska, Kilauea in Hawaii an Pagan in Mariana Islands.
also, we have had 53 earthquakes world wide this morning so far (4:40 ets). I see many 4s and 5s are creeping up. I woulding be surprised if we get a 7.0 or higher today
in addition there are some major droughts going on in Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia in which the United Nations is coordinating humanitarian releif to help. Looks like famine will be on the rise more so than it is now.
Oddly, South America still continues to have a cold front, destoying food growth and in Chile they have received (in some areas) up to 32 inches of snow...in the Atacama Dessert!!! I guess the media finds it more important to report on Harry and Kate than this...
There still are many other types of major disasters (Extreme Heat Waves, Severe Hail Storms, Multiple Fires everywhere, Major Flooding, Extreme Weather, etc.) continuing today along with epidemics. The news does not report these things....why?
Oh...and did I mention that France (trying to force a peace treaty too?)had a Tornado:
Residents in a village in the Var are counting the cost of damage to their properties today, after a tornado hit on Saturday evening. Violent winds of up to 200kph battered homes around Rians, on the border with the Bouches-du-Rhône, near Aix-en-Provence. The mini-tornado lasted for about four minutes. According to TF1 News, there were no reported injuries but major damage to about 20 homes and cars. Residents were evacuated by pompiers and will return to the village today to examine the aftermath. The area is expected to be classified as a natural disaster zone, allowing people to claim for the damage on their home insurance policies.
