Just for curiosity, I went looking for information about this. Unfortunately, the article doesn't tell us very much. So I'm not sure how much validity the prediction carries or if it might refer to some other events.
May I ask where you found or heard this prediction? It's interesting from a historical point of view; it would be helpful to know more about its origin.
According to this source, the rabbi lived in the first century, but the book was written in the eighth century and is only attributed to him.
type in menahem amiel on google Sefer zerubbabel should come up,click on it then scroll down to the index and you'll see all the books
Wow, this post really hit me across the head. The magi were looking for the Messiah's star ( numbers 24:17 ) . They recognized it and made their way to Bethleham. It seems to me that satan will attempt to counterfeit the star as well. The jews reject Jesus as their Messiah so it seems like they would still be looking for his star. I guess the question for me is - Will we see this counterfeit sign before we're gone?
This is very interesting and appears to give some info regarding the timing of the AC , it comes from the link that the OP was talking about >>>
<font size="2">The word is true. Four hundred and twenty years after the city and Temple have been rebuilt, they will be destroyed a second time. Twenty years after the building of the city of Rome, after seventy kings corresponding to the seventy nations have ruled in it, when ten kings have finished their reigns, the tenth king will come. He will destroy the sanctuary, stop the daily offering, the ‘saintly people’ will be dispersed, and he will hand them over to destruction, despoiling, and panic. Many of them will perish due to their faithfulness to Torah, but (others) will abandon the Torah of the Lord and worship their (i.e., Rome’s) idols. “When they stumble, a little help will provide assistance” (Dan 11:34). From the time that the daily offering ceases and the wicked ones install the one whose name is ‘abomination’ in the Temple, at the end of nine hundred and ninety years, the deliverance of the Lord will take place—“when the power of the holy people is shattered” (Dan 12:7)—to redeem them and to gather them by means of the Lord’s Messiah.
