There are real prophets, and their words come true. In my life I have been very blessed by their gifts. It is not safe to hang on to words and visions and dreams from people on the internet. To be safe visions, dreams, prophecies should be judged by people with a track record of knowing what is from the Lord and what is just a dream. Then we all have the responsibility to discern for ourselves. It is very difficult to read or hear about a dream on the internet and discern. Grace, I'm glad you knew Michael on old Rita. I only knew about the dream because it was posted by a friend of his on You Tube. I only really hold on to words from known sources like from Perry Stone or one of my pastors or someone I know about. There are several prophetic gifts that don't really believe in the rapture. Their own theology can bring a mixture into their prophecies that can be confusing. I used to feel good about listening to them but have gotten a bit leary even of their words. We should not dispise prophecy but hold on to that which is good.
Things people hear from the Lord can really be from the Lord and you know it right off when you hear it. I feel a lot that Becky B. shares from her quiet time with the Lord is from God. Don't you? It edifies and draws one closer to the King. There are many others who have blessed me. Hey, all of you bless me. You are the best people in the world!
With prophecy, dreams and visions that are directive to the body of Christ - meaning that they tell us things like when the rapture will come, they should be from someone whose life is under scrutiny by elders in the Lord and by those who have a proven track record. Clean life brings clean pipes from which to utter what you hear from God and not get it all clogged up with sinful garbage. Then prophets need to have a track record of accuracy in their words.
We have to use the Bible as our pattern of how and when to pin our hopes on a dream, a word or a vision. I have studied these areas over many years and under credible prophetic gifts. I never saw in the Bible the Lord use a person unknown to the body of Christ or the ancient Hebrews to give forth a directive word to His body. Internet prophecy lets anyone say anything. Did you know that looking to the right when talking is a sign that something is being made up? Looking to the left is indicative of remembering something and telling that from a memory. It is "telling" in some of the stuff I have seen. Try to look left and make up something. It is the left brain that goes to the right side that is the creative part that makes someone creating some story look to the right. Interesting; huh?
I know it is a bit fun to look for certain things because of a dream, but if we look at it too much and pin a lot to it, we may end up getting hurt. There are a few people already in ministry that I am personally looking at a little - I won't tell you who, but you can guess. I am just looking at them a little., mind you, because I don't know much about them. If my pastor said that this man was a credible prophet, and he knew of him; I would look a little harder at what he had said. My pastor preaches in Africa, Australia and Europe, as well as the US, so I think he would know folks who know of him. If I ever get the chance to ask my pastor, I'll ask what he thinks. Now that is a thought. Let's pray I get the chance to ask. Ha! Hmmmm. I couldn't really share what he said; though, because it wouldn't be right in this forum. Well, we will know soon anyway.
Once I brought a vision here, but I had it judged by people with a credible ministry before I shared. I'm careful as I know that I have to stand before the Lord and give an account of what I share. I also shared a dream but it was more a warfare prayer dream. It was also judged.
The Lord did not share with me the rapture date in the vision but only that it was very soon. My personal opinion from being around a lot of prophetic ministry in my Christian life is that the Lord is not going to give us the day or the hour in a word or a dream. If He does, then He will give it to credible elder pastors or prophets across the body of Christ and we will have such an inner witness that it came from the Lord. I think we come closer to finding the timing by real study of the Word than by hearing words from people.
Can I share with you something funny the Lord did to me in one of my devotion/prayer sessions? I had asked Him to give me more guidance about His timing or other information about the rapture. I was really pressing Him about it. I felt His loving presence. I saw Him but not as clearly as in my vision - it was just a prayer vision thing. Anyway He blew in my face and I was surrounded by the most beautiful snowy, ice crystal-type air. It was marvelous and beautiful like snow would look in heaven if heaven had snow. I can't describe it really - it was dazzling, sparkling and totally white but had depth of color like a rainbow sparkling from it. It was extraordinary in its beauty. I was amazed and in awe of the beauty and I asked what did this mean? He didn't say anything and then I was reminded of the ads that show snow and ice forming and talk about the "chill" of mint in some gum products. Of course, this was not like a paltry ads' representation of cold. It was so marvelous that I still can not describe it. Anyway, I got the loving "drift" of what the Lord was saying to me. I started laughing out loud. He was telling me in a loving, lovely way and an incredibly funny way to "chill" about it. Oh, how wise and kind and loving is our God! Well, I have chilled about it. We are going soon. I, like you, just want to get out of here and just see His sweet face.
