Somehow I stumbled across this page which has a free ebook for downloading. (I downloaded it and it's free from viruses) The author of this e-book claims that he was given a prophetic word from God regarding the timing of the rapture. In this book he explains that he wrestled with it questioning God if it could be so based on the Scriptures that say that no man knows the season or the hour. What God revealed to him was that the words that Jesus said were for that time, that the people did not know, but not that people would never know. He also links it all to the prophecy in Daniel about the mystery that would be revealed at the end of the age. Anyway, it is a bit of a long read but a good one. I pray that he is right with his timing. I have been pretty skeptical of date setting in the past, and a part of me is saying, ok, we'll see! However, it falls in with the date in the month of Av, 5772 that the Rabbi told his followers about. He claims the date is July 24th, 2012 and you'll have to read it to find out why. :)

Cool, well any date in the month of AV is a high watch date, so I'll be looking at this one also :)
If it doesn't happen, we just move on and keep watching.Thanks.
God Bless.

Reading it now and just got to the point where he's talking about his Nov 26th, 2008 revelation and 1335 day count ... Funny thing is 1335 days from Nov 26, 2008 isn't July 24, 2012 its July 22, 2012. Maybe there is more I'll have to read on.

Cporter73,
Thanks so much for your post, and really enjoyed reading it. I am in high alert for July as well. I believe that the we will have mysteries revealed to us, I think we will get the time of closeness or season if you will. However the quote "Jesus said were for that time, that the people did not know, but not that people would never know. He also links it all to the prophecy in Daniel about the mystery that would be revealed at the end of the age", what alerts me about this is we have to remember that it specifically says“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[f] but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of man" Matthew 24:36
We can't forget that it specifically says "only the Father". If this verse "Only the father" didn't exist in the bible, then I think it would make sense that maybe he wasn't revealing the day or hour to the people he was talking to. But in this verse, he is talking about that specific day, in the time of the end. (which we are in now, i believe). Another reason I think this is because if we were to someday know, our generation speaking. Then why would the verse say father only, and give us a clue about the days of Noah to look for.
I mean no disrespect whatsoever, and i am just giving my thoughts on this matter. i can be absolutely completely wrong in the interpretation of this specific verse, and i have not had a dream from the Father. So i am only basing this off my knowledge, thoughts, feelings, interpretation, etc. God Bless

This guy is brave, Mark, to write a book and proclaim a date with so little evidence or "confirmations".
Only one more day to see if the mystery gets "relocked"!
counting 1335 days from a seemingly meaningless date and 2 verses where people got a vision on the "24th" day of a month is not enough proof for me to write a book about the lord's return.
People are already mocking the lord and Mark on the net because of all the past failed dates.
I think we as Christians need to not focus on the date but on the return.
tick tock, is the mystery really unlocked?

If he has but one failed prophecy to his name, then anyone who listens to what he says about any other prophecy is a fool.
No compromises when it concerns the proof of our God's existence which is prophecy and its fulfillment.
Don't scratch your itchy ears.

Ha, just imagine if we just got caught up in the air tomorrow at random. Mj Rockling, I agree with some of your points, but you never know what could happen :)

Sorry,
Matt1 Thess 3:12,13 "12 and the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we also do toward you;13 to the end that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints"Posted 10 months ago # -
Bryan wrote » If he has but one failed prophecy to his name, then anyone who listens to what he says about any other prophecy is a fool.
how are we to interpret Matthew 5:22?
. . . "But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca,' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell". . .Barnes notes:
"Raca {fool}- This is a Syriac word, expressive of great contempt. It comes from a verb signifying to be empty, vain; and hence, as a word of contempt, denotes senseless, stupid, shallow-brains. Jesus teaches here that to use such words is a violation of the spirit of the sixth commandment."

Donna,
You must have a reason if you call someone a fool. To say it frivolously or out of anger as the passage you quoted implies is wrong. To say it with just cause, is almost a command.
I could fill this post up with biblical quotes regarding times when the Lord deems people to be fools, but I will just point you to this site:
http://www.openbible.info/topics/fool
If it is a sin to call anyone a fool for any reason, then our Lord would be a sinner.
I have had this conversation before with others. We should not let our compassion or love for others override our duty to seek out and to defend what is truth. There are some things we cannot compromise on. Even though the Lord loves everyone, he does not coddle them. He disciplines us and condemns our actions out of his love for us.
In cases such as this, our love should drive us to bring to light the false prophecies. Whatever pain or problems this may cause the one who spoke falsely should not be a factor in determining if we should point out what is false. Our Lord does what is right in the name of truth and it hurts many people in the process. His truth is sharper than any sword. But along the way our Lord is there the whole time with mercy and grace for everyone who asks. And so we should be like him. Condemn what is wrong, and show mercy and grace on the wrongdoer.
But to ignore condemning what is wrong...is just as wrong.

Okay, I'm a bit confused. Has this Mark guy predicted anything else that did not come true or set any other dates? If not then this one is still waiting to be seen as true or false, right? Unless he's set other dates or predictions how anyone say he's a false prophet?

Peter h, I was wondering the same thing as well...

Mostly I think that cautiousness comes whenever anyone claims to have a revelation of the exact day because of Matt 24:36
"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone."
Anyone claiming otherwise really needs to watch themselves. I agree with the point that Bryan V makes. Of course, if the Rapture does happen tomorrow and this guy was right then its all gravy baby!
The main point is that people should consider their own thoughts and revelations with a healthy respect and reverent awe/fear of the Lord. Its dangerous to date set. Thats proven.

The first word on my first comment was "If" and someone had said that he made other predictions.
This Mark Alexander may be offering this book to be free but keep in mind he has other books for sale. If someone finds this free book interesting they may want to buy more of his work. I have a hard time seeing that God would send a man who so obviously could be seen as trying to make a buck, a prophecy that no body else has received.
Any prophecies that God wanted mankind to know of were written down, at first for all the Jews to see, and then later, to the whole world for us all to see.
Why would God send a prophecy to a man to write in an obscure book that will only reach those who stumble upon it? God has never given a prophecy in such a manner. He either gives someone a prophecy word for word or a vision along with its understanding.
All I see here with Mark Alexander, is a single man's interpretation of God's word. That's it. You might learn something from that, but nothing prophetically new from God. I mean this guy thinks that God's responses to Daniel regarding his visions that God gave him, that those somehow apply to him with his so-called vision from God.
If I had a vision from God, I would want God to tell me that what I saw was going to come to pass, not that God told somebody else thousands of years ago that what they saw came to pass. This Mark guy is basing his belief that his "vision" is from God because Daniel also had a vision while in bed. And we are to accept that????
God forbid. My faith won't be so easily manipulated.

Okay, I don't see any of those assumptions as reasons to reject what this Mark Alexander has to say. So he has other books for sale, I sale my services in my area of expertise daily. He's obscure? God states over and over that he uses the foolish things to confound the wise and the small he makes great. God let a donkey speak to warn a person before a person being obscure doesn't negate a word from God.
I'm not saying this Mark guy is right, although he could be, I'm saying we need to wait to see. If his date comes and goes then I'll agree he's wrong.

I agree, Peter h.

Sorry, but there are more than enough clues to see that this man is misguided.
By his own reasoning, he says he confirmed that his message was from God by reading the book of Daniel and how God confirmed Daniels visions. Mark seems to think God talking to Daniel should be considered the same as if God was talking to Mark.
By Marks reasoning, anytime anyone has a bad dream, they can wake up and then claim it to be the prophetic word of God and that it will come to pass. All because God specifically told Daniel that one of his dreams were to come true.
If anyone believes that Mark Alexander had a prophecy from God, and they have not put the man or his words to any form of scrutiny, then they are being foolish.
Do you guys realize the gravity of stating you have a prophecy from God and being wrong about it? In the old testament times, these people were put to death. What they do, regardless of their intent, is dangerous, destructive, and sinful. If it were not so, then God would not have set the death penalty as the consequence.
Why are people here so hesitant to call a spade a spade? I understand we all want the rapture to come right now, but I'm not going to hang my hopes up on the word of a man who falsely claims they have heard something from the Lord that is not in the bible already.
Posted 10 months ago #1 vote of thanks [humblehorse] -
I think that when the Scripture says that "no man knows the day or the hour," it points more to the Second Coming and not so much the rapture. Though I DO believe that the date of the rapture has been hidden from us, every time Jesus made this statement of no one knowing the day or hour, He had just gotten done speaking of the signs right before the Second Coming more than the rapture. (Abomination of Desolation, great tribulation, coming of the Son of Man, dark sun and moon, falling stars, powers of heaven being shaken, all sorts of tribulation stuff that we won't see.) Yes He covers both grounds and talks about things that we're seeing even now, but He mainly talks about His official second return.
I'm not saying that we can know the day at all. I'm just stating that when we break down Scriptures like Matthew 24 and Mark 13 we should understand them in entirety. People still even think that these Scriptures mean that Jesus doesn't know when He's coming back! How can He not know if He and the Father are one? They are the same God. Does one keep secrets from the other? Wasn't all power and authority restored to Him after He became glorified in Matthew 28:18? Of course Jesus in man form didn't know but surely the glorified Jesus has all the answers concerning His return. Just goes to show that sometimes more depth is required than we think.
As for this man who wrote this eBook, there is no proof that God didn't speak to Him and there's no proof that He did. Either way it goes, all we have to go on is what this guy said. And whether He's right or wrong it doesn't mean anything but continue to obey God, have faith, and do His work. But there's no need to label him a false prophet because maybe as we get closer to the day, God begins to remove some of the mystery from the rapture. You just never know what God allows within His sovereignty.
I'm sure that we believers are not afraid to state when someone is false or when someone is clearly not of God but as of this very moment we have no reason to say that of the writer of this book. If we're here tomorrow, we'll know what's what. And it'll be case closed right?
Peace and love!
Posted 10 months ago # -
Why all the concern? It's tomorrow. I'm not going anywhere until He calls me anyways (as far as I am aware), so I plan on being here tomorrow in any case. Let's wait and see.
On the other hand, I have so much confidence in his e-book that I'm not bothering to waste my time reading it. I have better things to do with my time than wonder if he really heard from God. Tomorrow night I will know for certain and can either dismiss his attention getting behavior without being bothered by it in the least, or enjoy the embrace of my Savior without caring anymore what this guy wrote about.
This discussion does remind me of the differences in people who have been given prophetic gifts and pastoral gifts. And I thank God for giving both of those gifts to the recipients as He has chosen. And I'm specifically not talking about the author of the book. I'm not reading it and so have no comment on his giftings or lack thereof. Tomorrow will be his judge, not me.
For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. Gal 3:27Posted 10 months ago # -
I hope the author is right. Since he did address the verses about only the Father knows etc...and that it is not his interpretation but a revelation given him, it leaves only three options. Either he is misguided and the voice wasn't really the Lord's or he is a liar or he is telling the truth. Scripture however, does give a pattern of the true prophets having a flawless track record so we know we can trust them and know they are not false prophets. Mark the author doesn't seem to have a history of confirmed revelations which is my only reservation after reading the book. Therefore like TX and ICE have stated we'll find out tomorrow.

We might have a strong feeling when it might happen, but I'D NEVER state the exact date, because NO ONE knows.. Period..
Look at Matt.24:36 like this.. It's like the Hebrew wedding ceremony.. The bridegroom goes away for one year to make the honeymoon suite.
After the one year, the BRIDE makes herself ready knowing it could happen anytime, but NO ONE knows when the FATHER will tell the SON to go get your bride..
When the FATHER tells the SON to get his bride is when the trumpets sounded, and the BRIDEGROOM gave a big shout.. etc..
I believe this is what Jesus meant when he stated that only the Father knows the EXACT moment..
Matt.24:33 we will know it's at the door, but the exact moment I do NOT believe we will get to know until it happens.
Jesus stated when the Father revealed anything to him, that he would tell us, but I'm thinking that the rapture is going to be like this >> Father says, "Son get your bride", Jesus says, "Come Up Here"..
Joh 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
A lot of us have had visions and even more are still having visions of the rapture.. I think Jesus is revealing that his coming is very near..
Joseph
Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.Posted 10 months ago #1 vote of thanks [TX Thom]
