Don't mean to hijack here, but from what I've come to believe, is when the power that raised Jesus enters to raise the dead and change us, there will be havoc on this earth.

Something else, when the graves were opened at Jesus ressurection the bodies raised went into the cities and were seen. Now, if that happens this time, what a witness for our loved ones. Those for whom we've been praying. Maybe if he leaves us (after we're changed) here for forty days like he was and the dead are showing proof, our prayers will be answered. We know it would be chaos and the news media arn't trustworthy, but God can have His own newsfolks doing the reporting in person. Just a thought as I have so many loved ones not ready. However, I have full confidence it will be a perfect plan as our God is in control.

Harpazo means a rather violent, purposeful snatching away. Which sounds rather different than a 40 day walkabout. I like the concept, but I don't believe that it is what God plans. Guess we'll find out.

Earth angel, Christ went to heaven to the Father long before the 40 days. On the 40th day He went up and didn't come back for a long time.

See John 20:17 - Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’” Later that same day Jesus showed Himself to His disciples on the Road to Emmaus in Luke 24:13.

The Rapture of the Church is a different order of event than the Ascension of Christ to our Father. But He ascended to heaven the same day He rose from the dead and was transformed into His Resurrection body.

I expect to ascend to heaven the same day I receive my resurrection body, and I expect to be there for 7 years until we return with Him at the end of the Tribulation period. A delay of 40 days post-transformation makes no sense to me. Waiting for several minutes as the dead are raised and transformed seems more likely, as does the instantaneous transform and depart scenario.

there is no mention in the Word of God that we will be here on earth 40 days after the Rapture. The Rapture is a one time even t that is so glorious to watch for those who believe in Jesus Christ and Chaotic for those who dont believe. But Christians who are living in sins will not be rapture.Read 1 cor,5:1-8.

I don't see anywhere in 1 Cor. 5 that says Christians living in sin will not be raptured. And how do we, since we are still imperfect and sin, ever know when we are living good enough to be raptured. It's all a deception. The only thing that makes us worthy for the rapture is the shed blood of Jesus that forgives all sin. If you're saved, you're going!

I can't remember who the man was that I heard give a lesson on the translated words that were used for the rapture and the snatching away. But he said they were two different words and the snatching away as by force or moved from harms way was at the second return. Maybe TxThom can figure that out, I don't know that much about tranlation of original language.
But I have full confidence in God with however he chooses to do it. And when all's said and done folks may be surprised as to what they believed and how it will be done. Good thing God keeps some things hidden from people cause we little humans get a bit cocky sometimes.

I have been seeing 7:26 on clocks for a year or two now. 7/26 happens to be my oldest son's birthday and I had never seen it as a number that people seem to be seing often so I've been wondering what it could possibly be about. Last night I was in the car and looked at the clock and it was 7:26. We drove for several more minutes and then I looked at the clock again in time to see it flash off for a split second and turn back on at 7:26! I checked my cell phone and it was actually 7:34. I could hardly believe that actually happened so I pointed it out to my husband and he saw it too, that the clock said 7:26 and his cell phone also said 7:34. I prayed about it silently that God would please let me know if 726 means anything. After I prayed my daughter asked "Are there angels in the car with us?" So I thought maybe it happened just to remind me that we have angels watching over us and that God is in control of even the tiny details of our lives. But now to see the number 726 means rapture -I am awestruck!

To say that we don't live in sin is equally saying we don't need Jesus.

I'd like to clarify that it is not my belief about the 40 day theory. I just saw this and had heard another man speak about this, so of course it aroused my attention. I do wonder why we would have to be snatched out of harms way at the first appearing tho. All is supposed to be going on as usual, right?
But at the second coming it will be havoc and I can see why the believers would need to be grabbed by force to protect them. I'm just going to trust Christ and if I can't do that I surely can't save me.
Religous groups get so caught up in their own doctures/ I'm right and you're wrong yet shy away from things like tying the Torah and New Testament together as a whole. Many today are in the dark. I know I was until recently. Having knowledge of the Torah will help one to understand so many teachings in the New Testament. We need to be like the Bereans (searching the scriptures, daily) so as to test all teachings to see if they line up with the truth. Knowledge is freedom from fear. But ignorance can lead one to destruction. Another thing to be be careful of is our teaching, for those who teach will be held accountable for what they teach. Sobering thought.

GOC, I have had the same thoughts. When the dead in Christ are raptured they get immortal bodies, the dead that arose at the time of the crucifixion did not - unless I am not understanding this scripture. Christ ascended, but not those who arose from the graves. I'm guessing graves will not need to be disturbed, many for instance are lost at sea, their graves are not found. An indivisable moment in time is what I'm thinking, and then we who remain who are alive, in another moment. Which by the way is coming soon!

WAY TOO FUNNY! "toe over the starting line so-to-speak!" HOWEVER, GOC, we know that the first shall be last and the last shall be first -RIGHT?

Okay, at the risk of appearing narcissistic, am posting (again) the below reply. It was posted earlier as a comment (when replies weren't possible), but as comments didn't bump to the top, there was no way for anyone to know the thread had additional input.

While the newly resurrected roaming the earth for 40 days witnessing to the lost may have its appeal, it seems to me there are two problems with this.

First, wasn't it Christ Himself who stated in the story of Lazarus and the beggar that even if one came back from the dead people still wouldn't believe?

Second, how can the resurrected dead (now in their bodies roaming earth during their (love TX Thom's phrase!) '40 day walkabout' meet us in the air if they are down here with the rest of the "alive and remain" believers?

Actually, guess there is a third question I have: wouldn't the resurrected dead walking around in their new bodies be a blatant revealing of God's plan/timing of the rapture? I know God can and will overcome any scheme of the enemy,but for reasons unknown to me, the Lord seems to have hidden the timing of the rapture for His own purposes. Having the dead walking around for a full 40 days before the rapture seems to shoot full of holes the whole doctrine of imminency, not to mention the element of surprise.
