Today Five Doves had a fascinating article by Jim Bramlett about May 17, Ascension Day, perhaps a possible ascension day for us??? Anyway, here is my question, as I am still trying to connect some dots in my mind: Does anyone know what day Colton Burpo's birthday is that's in the book, Heaven is for Real? I no longer have the book, and couldn't find it on the web.

Hi, Vicki. I don't remember his birthday, but read the book out loud to my husband, who was so engrossed in the story, nightly he would bring it to me like a small child to read it to him until we finished it. Precious moments.
Did Colton say something concerning his birthdate?I was taught along time ago in our church that we were the "first fruits" and that the rapture would possibly occur during that feast day.
Anyway, wanted to answer your post, partly because my name is also Vicki, spelled the same way and everything.

God bless!

Hi Vicki, two!
We have a great name, don't we?!

The date of his birthday is in the back of the book. I thought it was in May, but may be wrong! Thank you for your response. Interesting about first fruits--is that the same as ascension day? Also, cute story about your hubby. :)

The Feast of Firstfruits corresponds with Pentacost, I believe. So, is that 50 days after ascension?

Hi Vicki,
I saw that post on Five Doves on Jim Bramlett, and thought it was very good. Here's the link:

I especially liked the part where the people were shouting, "Eli" meaning "ascension."
I'm sorry, but I can't help you to figure out Colton Burpo's birthday, because I never heard of him or the book, "Heaven is for Real."

His birthday was in May of 2000. His NDE was two months prior. I can't find his actual birthday.

Vicki, if anyone can give you an answer on that it'll be VC. Let me see what I can do.
Is what you're getting at that Colton saw himself in Heaven before he turned a certain age? I think it was like 12? And you're wanting to know if Ascension day falls before this birthday of his?
God Bless and Love,
FWJohn 6:28-29
Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”Posted 1 year ago # -
Christ rose from the dead on First Fruits, not rose to heaven. It is the first day after the Sabbath following Passover during the weeklong Feast of unleavened bread. So Christ died on Passover Thursday / Friday, was buried during the Feast of unleavened bread, stayed in the tomb Friday/Saturday but rose on the Feast of First Fruits which was Saturday / Sunday. He ascended on the fortieth day following His resurrection (Acts 1:3) and Pentecost is on the fiftieth day after Passover (following a week of weeks). Interestingly the Lord was with Moses for 40 days teaching Moses the Law during the initial Shavout or Pentecost when the Mosiac covenant was made with Israel and Torah was given, then Jesus spent 40 days teaching His apostles / disciples about the new covenant / fullfillment of Torah. Our God He changes not.

May 19, 1999 is Colton's birthday. For those who have the book it's mentioned in the timeline at the back of the book in the Timeline of Events. This would be two days later from the 17th of May. He will be 13 on this date this year. If he needs to be in Heaven before age 13....would fit. I'm not sure if that's what you are looking for.
A few weeks back we had a lively exchange among the guys especially as Colton sees his Dad riding in the army that returns to Armegeddon with Jesus. He never mentions himself. Either he doesn't see himself at age 20 there or it's before his 20th birthday to be included in this army. The speculation was that at 20 a man needed to be responsible for bringing in the tithe and being in the Army. A man's responsibilites began then and that this was the age considered strong enough for wielding a sword. Basic summary here. They , too, were interested in learning he's soon be 13 connecting to the Bar Mitzvah.
At 20 years old the frontal lobes of the brain meet. God knew what he was doing declaring this the year of adulthood. He should know best!
It's interesting you bring this up again in a different connection but involving timing none the less.

I didn't realize the history that goes with the Passover - First Fruits calender.
The day of Passover (in our calender) begins with the Fast of the Firstborn and ends with the Passover Seder.
On the next day, on the 2018th year from creation in 1743 BC, God made His covenant with Abraham to give his descendants the land of Israel, Abraham battles the four kings four years later, visits with Angels 14 years later, Isaac is born 1 year later, Jacob Wrestles with the angel in 1556 BC, the Exodus occurs in 1313 BC, Queen Vashti is executed in 366 BC, and Daniel is in the Lions Den in 372 BC.
On the Feast of First Fruits when Christ was raised from the dead Sodom was overturned in 1714 BC, Manna ends during the Exodus in 1273 BC, Esther appears before the King and Haman is Hanged in 357 BC. Busy Times

Thank you Rita family for all your responses.
I have some ideas and possiblities that I would like to share to get your thoughts on:
1. In the book, Heaven is so Real, Colton did not fight in the battle of Armaghetton because possibly he did not meet the criteria of being 20 yrs. old
2. Ascension day is May 19, and Colton's birthday is May 17.
3. There is the 7 yr. tribulation with the Battle of Armaghetton at the end.
4. If we add 7 yrs to our present time, it would just make Colton under the age of 20 making him ineligible to be in the battle.
Possible conclusion: The rapture may possibly be by or before May 16.
Sounded good to me! (Sure could use my glorified brain right now!)
Any thoughts?

One thought. You have Colton's birthday and Ascension day reversed. Other than that, interesting. I hope we're not here that long, but we'll see then what's up, won't we. On the other hand, if the Lord cuts the time short this might not apply.

Found my book. It's May 19th.

(like two minutes later)...Whups! VC beat me to it. Sorry, I didn't see the post.

In the last pages of the book it says that he turned 11 on May 19, 2010. So I guess he was born in 1999.
