Theologian Paul Begley of Indiana wonders could Jordan's King Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein become the peacemaker of the Middle East? The Anti-Christ will rise soon...
Yeah, I agree with Pastor Begley that Abdullah needs a close look at! Just saw this video today, but have been watching the King of Jordan for a little while now.
The guy had a short walk-on part in the Star Trek Voyager series.
And, he was born within just a couple of days when psychic (false prophet) Jeanne Dixon said a man who would be a dynamic personality on the world stage would be born in the Middle East. I wonder if the date was close enough so that the actual date could be falsified so he wouldn't be connected with Dixon's psychic message?
Just be tuned in when you possibly hear his name in the news in the days ahead!

Doing a bit more research on this guy and I am really thinking that Pastor Begley is on to something!
I undestand that King Abdullah II is the head of the Hashemite Kingdom which includes Iraq (BABYLON). So if the Muslim Brotherhood moves into Jordan, could his eventual seat of power be at the location of that ancient Biblical kingdom?

This is really heavy stuff folks. Sorry, but I just don't have any of that "tolerance" that he is asking for. Didn't Alice Bailey and others propose similar ideas a hundred years ago? And didn't the so-called Lord Maitreya initiative also introduce similar ideas?

Well, Jordan is one of the last kingdoms not severely affected by the "Islamic Spring" and is one of the remaining islamic nations still actually respecting it's peace treaty with Israel. I could actually imagine them working out a peace covenant with Israel more easily than a peace covenant with their islamic "brothers" which is a unique position.
He's well positioned to fulfill some prophecies. And he seems like a nice, peaceful, well educated guy. And he really, really likes Star Trek, so he can't be all bad. His wife got her degree from American University in Cairo, so plays well with the west.
He just seems much less arrogant and cruel than expected for the AC. Which could work well for him. Guess we'll find out when we get back.
I've had my eye on this guy and his uncle as well. Here is an excerpt from my study on the antichrist, which will show why I'm suspicious of the Hashemites:

The statue in Daniel depicts this with the two legs of iron (Daniel 2:33). So we see that the "people" that the "ruler" will come from not only includes the European nations (the west leg), but also includes the Middle East nations (the east leg). The western leg eventually fell, but the eastern leg continued as the Byzantine Empire for almost 1000 more years, and was headquartered in Turkey.
The Ottomans conquered the Byzantine Empire near the turn of the 14th century, and ruled until the 1920's. It is interesting to note, that Satan had his throne in the eastern leg, in the area of Turkey (Revelation 2:13). The original seven churches in Revelation were also in Turkey.
To complicate matters, the Roman army typically did not consist of Roman soldiers but of people from the region led by Roman Generals, called "legions" (source). This was necessary because with the massive size of the empire there were not enough Roman born soldiers to go around. In other words, it is probable that the "people" that the antichrist will be a descendant from, is from the Middle East.
Revelation 13:2 and Daniel 7:3-7 depict the beast as a combination of the previous beasts or kingdoms. So it would make sense that the origin of the antichrist will be associated with all of these kingdoms; much like Christ was born in Bethleham, came out of Egypt and was called a Nazarene. Interestingly, the modern-day nations that were once a part of all four kingdoms in Daniel (lion=Babylon, bear=Medo-Persian, leopoard=Grecia, beast=Roman) are Israel, parts of Turkey, Armenia, parts of Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. The latter four kingdoms neighbor Israel.

Of course, ancient Edom, Moab, and Ammon constitute modern Jordan. Just wondering how this verse fits into the picture if he turns out to be from Jordan. We do know that mid-trib the remnant of the Jews will flee into the wilderness, most likely to Petra, Jordan and they are protected there.
I'm not in any way saying it could not fit perfectly. The verse just talks about the future of Jordan in prophecy directly, and I'd like to get some thoughts on that.
I also take it that the person in Daniel 11 is the same one in Daniel 12, from the phrase "at that time" and what follows. This is not ancient history if the dead are raised.
"At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people--everyone whose name is found written in the book--will be delivered.
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. Daniel 12:1-2
David R, I agree that Edom, Moab, and Ammon are part of Jordan and also believe that they are taken out of the picture with the Psalm 83 War - but by then, the antichrist would have already taken up residence in the revived Babylon (somewhere near Baghdad?) and is ruling the Muslims that are left from his Hashemite empire. BUT BY THEN, he is not really a muslim anymore, having instituted his interfaith religion in which all beliefs are equal. Could this be like the religion that was prevalent before Mohammed which I understand was a religion of many gods? Is this what Daniel spoke of? (Daniel 11:37?)
The extent of Abdullah's training, especially his military prowess, is incredible.

So what is the Seleucid empire (outlined with the white line)? Doesn't that have something to do with Antiochus Epiphanes and how does this fit in with Daniel's prophecies?

Terrible Swift Sword, I could consider such a scenario. The reason I left it open ended is that it might be strange to phrase it, "they shall escape from his hand," if he originated there, and yet it might still work out that way. History is full of odd quirks.
I also think about how the disciples heard that Jesus was from Nazareth and their immediate reaction was, "Can any good come out of Galilee?" They must have had some preconception that the Messiah would not originate from that area. "The Scriptures said He'd be born in Bethlehem! What's He doing in Nazareth?"
So, I won't dismiss the possibility. I just thought it was a relevant point to bring up. Thanks.

I understand, and I'm certainly not dogmatic as I'm also open to the antichrist being a nephilim. I just find it interesting that the uncle was born around the time Israel became a nation. I also find it interesting that he is a "prince" that was in line for the throne and got rejected for that position right before his brother died. The antichrist becomes king by "intrigue" and not by the normal means of royalty.:
Daniel 11:21
And in his place shall arise a vile person, to whom they will not give the honor of royalty; but he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue.

Just wondering about the British royal family: Prince William is in the line of succession, but if something happened to him then Harry would rule. Quite a few believe that Harry is not Charles' son, so this would apply if, as many believe, the antichrist comes from Europe, specifically the British royal family.
Added note: King Abdullah's mother is British born (probably where Abdullah gets his blue eyes). This gives Abdullah a connection with Europe (and the Roman Empire?). I wonder if she has any Jewish ancestry?

Antiochus Ephiphanes IV (who called himself "Antiochus Theos Ephiphanes" or "Antiochus God Manifest) was the clearest Old Testament type we have of the future Man of Sin. At times in Daniel, it's hard to know if we're looking at ancient history or future events, they're so close in character.

I thought I'd add that although Antiochus called himself, "Epiphanes" (the illustrious or revealed one), his critics called him, "Epimanes" (madman).

I have the old book (1974) The Coming Antichrist by Walter K. Price sitting on my desk now. I dug it out from a dusty old shelf and will take another look. There is quite a bit in it about Antiochus Epimanes.
My take is Cardinal Peter Turkson.He was born in 1948 Oct 11,only one day apart from Erev Yom Kippur,and was in the same year Israel was restored as a nation.
Right now he is the president of Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace.From scripture we learn that the son of perdition shall come from peace.And by peace he shall destroy many.
He shall lead the dialogue between the west and Islam after Ezekiel 38/39,and lead the revival of the old Roman empire by allying the Islamic countries and EU in the form of economic,political and cultural cooperation.
Zechariah has foretold a future movement of a wicked woman to Shinar,and build a house there.My belief is this prophecy is still waiting for it's fulfillment and may point to RCC being that woman.
Now,I could be wrong with who he is.Only the tribulation saints shall prove that if I am right or wrong.

He may be assassinated by his people during the upcoming conflict between Israel and his country Jordan.
Vatican always has her eyes on Jerusalem.With her dominion theology and their Postmillennialism,a view that Christ only returns after they have ushered in the millennium kingdom on this earth,they really don't see Israel has any role or place in this golden era and for them to achieve their goal.

It has been a longtime belief that the False Prophet will come from the Church of Rome, so yeah, he is worth paying attention to.
Regarding Amy's thoughts that nephilim would be involved - could the F.P. be a nephilim? The F.P. has miracle powers, could he also present himself in some kind of spiritual form at times? Could he be an alien, or perhaps one of the New Age's Masters of the Wisdom?
Just saw this report of a new book by Joel Richardson (a mid-tribber I believe?) called the Mideast Beast in which he believes that the antichrist will be a muslim.

teen queen,I did hear about that covenant a while ago.As I have stated from my previous posts,it will be Vatican who draw up the proposal,rectify it,and propose it to the nations that Jerusalem belongs to Israel after Gog/Magog war.
This covenant which is going to be demanded and endorsed by Israeli leaders,is also known as the covenant of death by the prophet Isaiah in chapter 28.
Because from Daniel 9:27 we learn that this covenant will be forsaken in the middle of the tribulation by the son of perdition.And he shall bring forth the adversary we find in Isaiah 47:6.

I am surprised to see Joel Richardson still have so many followers,when he has suggested that AC or the son of perdition shall come from Islam,while we are witnessing today the West keeps pounding the East,taking the advantage of Arab uprising, and the imminent destruction of Islamic states per the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38/39.
I have not read Joel Richardson's books,
but it seems to me, IMO anyway, that the
whole 'antichrist coming from Europe' idea
rests on kinda flimsy evidence.
I mean, that man is called The Assyrian
in parts of scripture! I am leaning to
the Beast coming from the Middle East and
maybe even from a Muslim/Arab nation, and
King Abdullah could be a candidate that
has to be considered.
From the short video presented earlier
Mr. Richardson has prominently featured
the president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip
Erdogan. I know that this man has been
considered to be a candidate in the past,
but IMO anyway, he does not have the needed
charisma to ascend to that lowly position.

Mr. Sarkozy and Mr. Blair will have to take
a back seat for the time being. And 'Lord'
Maitreya, whoever he is, will still be a
possible candidate for the false prophet at
sometime when and if he finally makes his
appearance on the workd scene.
The Prime minister of Turkey is charismatic and has considerable influence in the middle east. Is from the eastern leg of the Roman Empire, is from Europe, is from islam, represents the people who once celebrated a peace accord with Israel and could again. These different theories on origin are not necessarily exclusive.
