Father,
Our hearts flutter to a stop and falter when we hear such news. Too many young people and their schools are facing violence theses days. We long for days past when students could feel safe in their schools.
Be with each student and staff member there and turn what was intended for evil to good. Bring those who don't know You to You in a powerful intervention in this calamity. Surround them with the awareness of your nearness and concern for them. Restore the chaos to order and protect all those involved in getting help to this school, and the community. Reassure those impacted bringing Your peace and love in bountiful ways. We thank You and praise You for all blessings forthcoming. May parents and students be quickly reunited to calm fears and hearts.
Calm every parental heart and those of all families touched by this tragedy. May the injured receive the care they need quickly and be reassured by news they hear on recovery. Guide the Drs. involved, the nurses attending and the hospital staff in dealing with all forms of this trauma and keeping order in the rush headed their way after tragedies occur involving so many. May preplanning come to the fore in preparation. May not one student be lost.
We thank you the shooter has been found for his sake and others. We pray for him lifting this troubled young man for the healing help he desperately needs as well. For this is a cry for help.
In the days ahead be with this community that is now reeling in shock. Provide for their collective needs as well as their individual needs. May they spiritually be drawn to You in great waves. May the see You in every answered prayer.
