Bold Type
When you're typing along and want bold print, leave the cursor in place, move the mouse over the B and click on it.... leave it there until done with the bold typing, then with the mouse click off the B and continue typing in normal print. Do not bring the mouse down to where you are typing and don't click on it at all when you continue typing. Later you can but not at that time. I was bringing the mouse down to where I was printing and clicking again...and got nowhere --no change and couldn't get rid of it no matter what. A royal headache ensued! So the key is the mouse --don't move it or click it after clicking off the B.
It is also easy to write the words then LEFT CLICK mouse and pull across the whole word to highlight it; then hit the BOLD button. Or, double click on the word you would like to highlight also works; then hit the BOLD button.
Italics
For italics, the same process. Leave the flashing cursor where your typing. Move the mouse over the I, click it on --type in italics until done. Leave the cursor where you stop. Click off the I when done but don't move the mouse or do any more clicking--it will return to normal print on it's own without any extra moves from you.
Practice a bit before really needing it to get used to the process and soon it will be second nature to you in the near future.
