Why The Rapture Will Precede Ezekiel 38
Monday, January 26th, 2015Ezekiel 38Interpreting VersesProphecy
Q. I have long believed (because of my previous denominational upbringing and family influence) that the events of Ezekiel 38 would happen before the Rapture, which of course wouldn’t happen until the preaching of the Gospel to the world was complete. This site has effectively changed my mind on the stance of the preaching of the Gospel issue. I really would like to believe that the Rapture is going to take place before Ezekiel 38’s events take place, but I need more just Romans 11:25 to go on. Can you provide more basis for this claim (either in a direct response or point me to where it currently exists on the site?) I would like to know how you came to this conclusion.
A. Romans 11:25 says that Israel has been blinded in part until the full number of Gentiles has “come in”. In the Greek language that phrase means to arrive at one’s intended destination. John 14:3 says that our intended destination is our Father’s house. In Acts 15:13-18 James told early Church leaders that the Lord was first going to take a people for His name’s sake from among the Gentiles before rebuilding David’s fallen tabernacle, meaning the temple. Daniel 9:27 says that the anti-Christ will defile this temple in the middle of the missing 70th week. Matt. 24:15-21 and 2 Thes 2:4 confirm this as the beginning of the Great Tribulation.
Because of all the controversy surrounding it, I don’t believe Israel will build a temple until God clearly reveals Himself to them. Ezekiel 39:22 says that Ezekiel’s Battle serves this purpose. From that time on, Israel will know that the Lord is their God, and will reinstate their Old Covenant relationship with Him, starting the clock on the 70th Week of Daniel.
Put it all together and this chain of events emerges. Christ has been building His Church for nearly 2000 years. During this time the Jews have been sidelined, blinded in part. When the Church’s number is complete He’ll whisk us off to our mansion in the sky before revealing Himself to Israel by dramatically winning the Battle of Ezekiel 38. The blinders will come off and Jews from all over the world will flock to Israel demanding a Temple for worship. A covenant with the one we know as the anti-Christ will permit its construction.

I am convinced of this, that the One who began a good action among you will bring it to completion by the Day of the Messiah Jesus. Philippians 1:6February 8, 2015 at 6:09 pm #65182
It is my opinion that this war (Ezek 38) will occur when the 7th bowl is released. I know this is not a popular belief, but both events read the same…
In My zeal and in My blazing wrath I declare that on that day there will surely be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. 20 The fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field, all the creeping things that creep on the earth, and all the men who are on the face of the earth will shake at My presence; the mountains also will be thrown down, the steep pathways will collapse and every wall will fall to the ground. 21 I will call for a sword against [o]him on all My mountains,” declares the Lord God. “Every man’s sword will be against his brother. 22 With pestilence and with blood I will enter into judgment with him; and I will rain on him and on his troops, and on the many peoples who are with him, a torrential rain, with hailstones, fire and brimstone. 23 I will magnify Myself, sanctify Myself, and make Myself known in the sight of many nations; and they will know that I am the Lord.”’
Rev 16 – 7th bowl:
17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl upon the air, and a loud voice came out of the [k]temple from the throne, saying, “It is done.” 18 And there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder; and there was a great earthquake, such as there had not been since man came to be upon the earth, so great an earthquake was it, and so mighty. 19 The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. Babylon the great was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of His fierce wrath. 20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. 21 And huge hailstones, about one hundred pounds each, *came down from heaven upon men; and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, because its plague *was extremely severe.
Just sounds like the same event is being described here.February 8, 2015 at 6:27 pm #65183
The main focus of Ezekiel 38 is upon how it will affect Israel and their faith. That is why I believe God will have already dealt with the Church by removing it. How much time passes before Ezekiel 38 takes place, that I cannot answer.
My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Psalm 84:2
