I have an interview Tuesday for where my former two colleagues now work. The recruiter is working on the pay and time on Tuesday. Pray that everything goes well and that I ace the interview. This is a contract and could turn FTE within 6 months meaning a pay raise and benefits.

I have lifted up your request and this step sounds promising.

Amos 9:15 echoed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Tuesday, October 1st, 2013 at the United Nations…"And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God."

The interview was nearly six hours – never had an interview that lasted that long, but understand why that was the case. I think it went well, but you never really know – I thought I did pretty good in San Diego and that was a huge disappointment. I’m feeling this is it and should find out by Friday. My recruiter also got me the salary I wanted – so I was surprised, she worked it and I was a little apprehensive and I didn’t want to push it.

I’ll let you guys know what happens.

Yes, continue praying until this is done. I need all the favor I can get with the 11 people I interviewed with!

Update: I did not get the job, some nonsense about me not being the “best” “cultural fit” – I must have said something in the interview to one of the 11 that they didn’t like, or that term could mean hundreds of things or just a polite PC term of politeness. I’m very bummed about this.I thought I nailed it and this is the second biggest let down of my search the last 7 months.

Thank you for sharing this painful update with us, GoldenKnight. Our hearts and prayers continue to be with you. I was certain our gracious LORD would have fulfilled our prayers and your needs with this position. In this disappointment may we continue to trust Him for His best and His blessings upon you. 😥

There are times I do not understand His ways. I know of a couple who are co-pastoring a church and have one child. They have been praying for another one but as the years go by, it hasn’t happened. Then my son is friends
with someone who’s mother is an atheist and her and the man she has been living with for as long as we have known them, get married and within one month she is pregnant. It just confuses me especially when what we are asking seems to be the natural course of life. I know just ti trust anyway, but it can be very disheartening. I cannot help but wonder is He is leading you in another direction. So sorry about this.

We have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency of God's power may be of Him and not of us. 2 Cor. 4:7

Sorry to hear, GK. Hopefully this just means the Lord has something better in mind for you. :rose:

Romans1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

So disappointing Goldenight. Especially that your previous co-workers are there who you so wanted to work with again. I can only think more that God closed the door for some reason that is unclear and for your best, though not understood at the moment.

I was curious about the phrasing of “the “best cultural fit,” and found this link: https://www.thebalance.com/assess-cultural-fit-when-interviewing-candidates-1918087 which shows the mindset today of employers looking for employee’s. At the very least it may be helpful in accessing whatever might have been in their minds regarding your interview or anyone else’s. It may help you zero in on what they might have missed or misjudged about you, so that you can be prepared for your next interview.

They have hiring down to a worldly technical science these days that may somewhat be overlooking the real human aspect and heart in the matter anymore. It was either stolen from you, or God’s will to steer you in another direction for your best.

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the one who trusts in You! Ps 84

You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word. Ps 119

Let me dwell in Your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of Your wings! Selah Ps 61

I Am the Lord! Besides Me there is no Savior. For there is no other name under Heaven given among men by which we must be saved. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved!...For in him we live, and move, and have our being!

Yeah, I think I have an idea and already know for the future how to answer a particular question that was posed to me – but a former work colleague says the term is simple HR politeness — so it could have been literally a number of things!

Thanks for the new prayers Heather R (taking the time away from your writings), Mom of 2, No Other Rock, and 3rd Watch.

Sorry, Goldenknight. But I can’t help being reminded of times in my life that I wanted something very much, and later God graciously showed me how it was a good thing I didn’t get them. God also showed me that everything in every situation leads ultimately to a deeper relationship with Him.

There was one time that was particularly interesting. I was a self-employed artist at the time, and a sports celebrity wanted to commission me for a painting. I really wanted to do it, especially since I had heard he was a Christian, and I also needed the work. I prayed long and hard to know from God what I should charge for the painting, and came up with a reasonable price. When I told this man the price, he was angry and rude, said it was too much, and I was very disappointed and surprised. I had really thought that God had meant for me to do this painting. I remember praying to God about it afterwards, essentially telling Him that I tried my best and accepted that He knows best, even though I didn’t understand why I had to go through that particular “rollercoaster”.

So, a few months later, I had very little commissions, so to pay the bills, I had to go to work in an office. One day, I got a call in my office from the man, and he kept apologizing. He said he had been looking into other artists, but every one of them charged far more than I would have, and he asked me to do the painting for the price I gave him. So, I eventually got the commission. The man has since gone on to be with the Lord, and the painting is in a museum.

I’ll keep praying for you, brother.

Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
