OK, so I have not even decided whether I am going to open a Facebook account, much less actually tried to set one up. Yet, I am still a bit confused already. Not a good sign. LOL. So I clicked on a link in another thread and can see the Facebook “Homepage” (not sure what the right terminology is) for RITAN. I thought it would be private. Can anyone see anything posted, even if they never create an account? Any insight for somebody who was just settling in to my comfort zone with the RITAN website would be greatly appreciated (finally figured out how to post a YouTube where the picture actually showed up…uggghh!! Who moved my cheese?) LOL Not fun for an aspurgeresque person.

John 14:1-3 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."

Watchman, Watching and Waiting posted a link like that on one of the earlier postings when folks were unsure. There is a big sign that covers most of the page and requests you sign up but if you scroll upward you can get an idea what the site looks like there. It’s a pain to work around the sign though. However, you can get the idea of what it looks like and follow to a degree. It’s not the first posted links she made, it is in a section where there was discussion of those not wanting to move. She posted this so folks could get an idea and see the set up. If you truly are willing to go through all that, you can see some of what is posted but viewing is limited.

Okay, I stand corrected. I found the address and will post it below. There is no pop up sign now but what you will see is from the original RN FB site before the multitudes have moved over with current updates. This is mostly April posts. But it gives an idea of what the other site looks like.

You should also be able to go the sign up link and see something without registering. Let me explore that.

 Well of course, I can see it now as I registered. lol I need a head slapping smiley. (I shall miss these little friends.) Just experiment to see what can you can see without registering. Before I was a member I believe these were covered up and you needed to scroll around them to see anything if at all. The format is very different from this site. Loz has given a good link to help with security. I’m trying to figure this out, too. Learn as we go. Hang in there. :rose:

Still very unclear on this stuff. I went to https://www.facebook.com/groups/278160135977556/

I can see stuff posted within the past hour. When I scroll down, I can see bunches of posts…30, 40 stopped counting. Again, I thought it had been turned into a private group, which I perhaps mistakenly understood as a group that you could not see posts on unless you had an account and were signed in. Apparently not.

Would love to better understand the difference between a private group and public group. Is there no difference in visibility to posts, but just in the ability to post and respond? Any help would be appreciated.

I think the plan is when the “Official” cut of date for RITAN webpage is reached, June 5th? Then the RITAN Facebook Group will be made “Private”, it is however currently invite only and heavily moderated by Watching & Waiting and some others I believe.

In light of the future changes for RITAN, I thought it might be of benefit for those not aware, of the technical features of Facebook to help keep your profile as private as possible.

It is not private right now in order to gain new members and also because old members are being searched for to invite back. At the point that as many as want to come, it may go private. It is a thought, but I’m not sure it is the plan. Chelle would like to see it remain public in order to be a witness to as many as is possible in these last days. I think the most important thing for all christian members, is to cover our Rita Now Facebook site in frequent prayer as well as members, for it and us to be under God’s anointing, leading and protection and covered in His shed blood and watchcare over us. We are told to go into all the Nations, and we are certainly gaining members from all over the world. We want to be effective with as much time as we have left, and trust God for His safety and blessings till He calls us up. For some it is like a step of faith to come on over, and I pray God will give each one the peace they need to make that choice, and then trust in Him for the rest.

I Am the Lord! Besides Me there is no Savior. For there is no other name under Heaven given among men by which we must be saved. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved!...For in him we live, and move, and have our being!

    It is a big mess.
I respect the reason for the change, but as usual there are not words obscene enough to express dealing with FB.
After using a desktop and 2 tablets over a 2 hour period, I think I may have finally deleted my old FB account. But I will have to wait 14 days to know for sure!
As a cautionary tale I will share, that I opened that account for a religious group. It was an open page. We thought we were bringing the good news. Just wound up exposing ourselves to a whole lot of uninterested, unsaved people.

I have a question. I do use Facebook and have joined the group but I’m not familiar with how
The groups function. Now let me say first that I am not ashamed of my end times interest but I work at a church and, while I’ve not experienced this personally, we’ve had people complain to the pastor about things that other staff has posted on their page. Like many churches, my church does not discuss end times at all and many of my “friends” do not share my passion for end times related topics. That said, if I comment on a post within the group, will either my comments or posts be viewable to my friends who are not part of the group? My pastor is well aware of my enthusiasm on this topic and I do not hide my participation in conferences, reading of end times related books and articles, but I could see someone sending an email. It’s unfortunate for sure but in the interest of the essentials/non essentials argument, I try to not make waves.

Isaiah 40:31 Those who wait upon The Lord shall renew their strength. They will mount up with wings as eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

Yes, it will be a private group eventually. Right now it is public so we can keep the door wide open for people to find us. The link you posted is the right one in finding our RITAN group.

In a public group, anyone, member or not, can read what people are posting. That is why you could read it. In a private group, only members of the group can read it. As far as posting, only members can post whether it be private or public. In the link you posted, you can request to be a member of the group, and I will approve you. Then you can begin posting. I hope you join us!

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”

And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
