Call me old fashioned, but I really love the older songs. They have so much beauty, such emotion and truth. Gary Wood, when in heaven after dying in a car wreck, heard the angels singing, “Crown Him With Many Crowns”, and asked why they were singing out of the Baptist Hymnal. He was told that all songs of worship originate first in heaven and then are placed in the heart of one on earth who will publish it. I feel this is one of those songs.

When I hear a praise song that makes my heart leap, I know that it is Holy Spirit inspired – God breathed. It is a touch of heaven here in our ears and in our souls. Amazing Grace for instance. I cannot hear it or sing it without tears.

For I know the plans I have for you, plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
